Untitled: GOLD DUST
Untitled: Gold Dust was conceived for Rooms to Let, an event where artists respond to abandoned houses. The electricity did not work inside the house and the windows were boarded, so flashlights were given to the audience. During a five hour performance, a male performer persistently swept a layer of gold debris across a bedroom floor that created a hazy fog; the beams from flashlights showcased the dust. In the back corner, a closet was refurbished as a shrine and contained a woman dressed in robes holding a flower. Her image was partially hidden from the doorway, but her profile could be viewed from a hole cut through to the hallway.
